Courtney L. Gilrein, EA – Director
Courtney brings more than 18 years of experience in accounting, including more than 13 years in public accounting. She is a manager in the tax department and specializes in the preparation of fiduciary income tax returns for Estates and Trusts. She has vast knowledge of the complex area of Estate and Trust accounting, and can help individuals, executors and trustees with Estate and Trust planning, federal and state taxation, and preparation of decedent’s final tax return. In addition to fiduciary tax returns, her background includes areas of corporate, partnership and individual tax return preparation, tax planning, financial reporting, and bookkeeping. Courtney joined our firm in September 2010. In August of 2018, she earned the title of Enrolled Agent (EA). EA’s are federally licensed tax practitioners, specializing in taxation, and have unrestricted rights to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.
She is dedicated to assisting clients with any of their tax and accounting needs. She enjoys doing extensive tax research and works with clients to understand and apply the appropriate tax planning strategies to serve clients’ best interests.
In 2006, Courtney received her Associate’s degree in Accounting from Springfield Technical Community College and her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting and a minor in Information Technology in 2007, from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA.
Courtney is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA).
