Debt is an overwhelming and stressful feeling to have. It is important to deal with this situation as soon as possible, before it gets worse. If you find yourself going through this, here are some tips to help you get ahead.

1. Review each debt you have: Go through each debt you believe you have and make sure you owe that amount.

2. Contact your creditors: If you let your creditors know that you are having difficulty making your payments and the reason for your trouble, they may be able to help.

3. Create a budget: To help relieve some stress, create a spending plan to help reduce some of your debt. If you create a list that is broken down between necessary expenses and optional, you will be able to prioritize your spending.

4. Reduce your expenses, if possible: Any unnecessary spending for the time being until you catch up on your debt. Purchasing anything new and optional is something you should hold off on for a little bit. Try to minimize activities like going out to eat and save money by making meals at home.

5. Consolidate your debts: Withdrawing more money to pay more debts is not always the best decision, especially when withdrawing from low-interest accounts for high-rate loans.
